St Matthew-in-the-City
St Matthew-in-the-City is a historic Anglican church located in Auckland, New Zealand. The church was built in 1905 and is known for its beautiful architecture and rich history.
In recent years, the church has experienced a resurgence in attendance and has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
In 2021, St-Matthews-in-the-city upgraded its audio-visual equipment to provide a better experience for its attendees.

Alpha Sound was engaged to assess the job and hired to provide a comprehensive service, including installing and maintaining the new equipment.
The new equipment –comprising of a JBL INTELLIVOX DDS BEAM SHAPING COLUMN ARRAY, JBL Amp, Subwoofer and Column Speakers; and an AKG C214 LARGE DIAPHRAGM MIC for the BELL TOWER & CATHEDERAL ORGAN - provides the highest quality sound, and has dramatically improved the overall experience of attending services at St-Matthews-in-the-city. The church is now better equipped to provide its attendees with a more immersive and engaging experience.

Alpha Sound worked closely with Peter Reed - Senior Consultant at Salmond Reed Architects – throughout the project to ensure that the Category A Heritage building maintained its historical integrity whilst having its technology brought through to the modern day.
